Customer ledger

Modified on Tue, 13 Oct at 9:23 AM

The Customer Ledger provides a complete overview of all financial transactions related to a customer. It helps you track invoices, payments, credit invoices, and outstanding balances in one place.

The Customer Ledger acts as a running balance for each customer. Every financial transaction registered on the customer affects the balance and gives you an up-to-date overview of the customer's financial status.

You can use the Customer Ledger to monitor customer debt, review payment history, and identify overdue amounts.

The Customer Ledger displays:

  • All invoices issued to the customer
  • Registered payments
  • Credit invoices
  • Outstanding balances

Each line in the ledger represents a financial transaction that affects the customer's balance.

The balance changes automatically based on the transactions registered for the customer:

Transaction type
Effect on balance
Invoice
Increases the balance (amount owed by the customer)
Payment
Decreases the balance
Credit invoice
Reduces the balance

This provides a real-time view of how much the customer currently owes.
